This issue of Quick-o-nomics—part of our Collateral Damage series on the economic crisis—focuses on evidence of recovery in the major economies. It provides brief snapshots of the data on leading and current indicators, and shows that the freefall is over—at least for now. Genuine green shoots were emerging in some regions in the second quarter of 2009. However, there is nothing in the data to suggest that a strong recovery is imminent.
